M y approach to therapy is to honor your ideas, concerns and the direction you want your life to go. You bring to our sessions your commitment to change and growth. I bring training and my ability to sense the best method of therapy to help you, based on your unique concerns, situation and goals.
Whichever methods we decide upon, you are in the driver's seat. I assist by creating a space where you can feel safe and free to explore the challenges you face and to utilize the best tools in moving beyond whatever blocks you from your greatest desires in life.
I truly believe people come complete, resilient and capable. I am merely a catalyst to help draw upon strengths already within you and to discover new ones to improve yourself and your life.
Individuals
I ndividual therapy often addresses issues that block healing and growth. Blocks usually stem from medical, family or life traumas. Part of individual therapy is to uncover and see these more clearly in order to understand how they affect thoughts, emotions and behavior.
Therapy may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Solution Focused Therapy plus others tailored to your individual needs for improving balance and wellness.
Couples
C ouples counseling requires a set of methods to address what is working well in your relationship and what areas you would like to tune up or improve. When communication, intimacy and the joys you expected to flourish return, harmony and contentment grow.
We may use Couples Counseling, Family Systems, EMDR or other modalities which may improve life together in 6 to 12 sessions.
Groups
G roup therapy can be surprisingly effective among those with similar or even different emotional challenges, especially if such challenges stem from trauma. Group sessions may also give access to therapy to those needing budget-friendly options.
My certification in EMDR and my broad experience with groups (as well as extensive research data) often finds that EMDR processing in groups can be very effective in restoring joy and balance to life.
